Arrangements Committee
In the past year we have significantly changed our approach as to meeting site selection and opportunities for vendor to participate. Based on ten years of financial data, the meeting locations have been narrowed down to 4 total sites with an alternating rotation. Those sites are Madison, Wisconsin Dells, Lacrosse and Door County. My plan is to alternate the spring education meetings between Madison and Wisconsin Dells and the fall meetings between Lacrosse and Door County. The reasons for doing this are several. First, the locations previously mentioned are locations that have historically been well attended. Secondly, the locations that have been selected offer both our members and their families many options in terms of activities and entertainment outside of the actual meeting. Because there are so many meeting choices and destinations available outside of the state we felt it was important to offer the most desirable, family orientated locations possible in Wisconsin for WANA members. Third, there is a direct correlation between member attendance and vendor participation. If we can consistently have good member attendance the vendor wants to be there as well to display their products. In regards to vendors, we have in place a tiered system of vendor sponsorship available. Depending on the amount of exposure that a company wants within the organization there are several options to accommodate this.
